Job Summary:

 

This position will:

·         Assist in the design, support, communication, and oversee the implementation, monitoring, and maintenance of the teacher registered apprenticeship program (TRAP). This includes collection of appropriate program data, preparation of documents and presentations related to the Arizona registered apprenticeship program;

·         Work collaboratively with the Educator Recruitment and Retention (ERR) unit, Educator Preparation Program (EPP) unit, and the Certification unit to approve programs, as well as develop effective systems to support and guide Local Education Agencies (LEAs) with training and communication related to work-based learning as a workforce development pathway; and

·         Work with the Arizona Department of Labor to apply for grants, secure funding, etc., for the Arizona teacher apprenticeship program.

 

The Arizona Department of Education currently utilizes a hybrid work environment, with up to two days of remote work (contingent upon business needs).  Candidates should apply with an ability and willingness to work in-office up to five days per week as business needs necessitate.

 

Job Duties:

 

  • Assist in the design, communication, and implementation of the Arizona teacher registered apprenticeship program
  • Collect appropriate program data prepare documents(s) and presentations related to Arizona teacher registered apprenticeship program
  • Collaborate with ERR, EPP, and Certification to approve programs that will participate in the Arizona teacher apprenticeship program
  • Collaborate with Arizona Department of Labor (DOL) to apply for grants, secure funding, etc. for Arizona teacher apprenticeship program
  • Collaborate with Educator Preparation Programs regarding the required related instruction
  • Work cooperatively with LEAs to provide training and communication regarding program approvals, reporting, and monitoring
  • Interpret state and federal policies governing apprenticeship training programs and provide information and assistance to staff, trainees, training providers, and companies interested in participating in the Arizona teacher apprenticeship program
  • Provide information and technical assistance to LEA personnel, EPP personnel, and other professional entities on matters related to matters related to Arizona teacher apprenticeship program
  • Assume responsibility for responding inquiries (telephone, email, and written correspondence) related to Arizona teacher apprenticeship program

Selective Preferences:

 

Preference will be given to those applicants with:

·         An understanding of the Arizona K-12 and post-secondary systems desired

·         The ability to demonstrate teaching at the K-12 and/or higher education level(s)

Retirement:

 

You will be required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS) upon your 27th week of employment, subject to waiting period. On or shortly after, your first day of employment you will be provided with enrollment instructions and effective date.
