This position offers remote work allowing employees a combination of onsite and work from home options. The expected remote work schedule for this position will be determined by hiring manager once training is completed.

Job Summary

Scottsdale Community College (SCC) is seeking a full-time Fiscal Analyst. This position will provide professional financial analysis for SCC finance and budgeting functions. The position will support procurement, procurement cards, travel authorizations, cash advances, and expense journaling. This includes reviewing and approving activities associated with college related funds, responding to inquiries by providing technical/analytical support, and reviewing/analyzing incoming contract requests. This position provides independent evaluation and analysis of issues and judgment to select and apply standard techniques and procedures in fiscal and business operations. This position may occasionally serve as a project lead and may supervise non-exempt staff.

Essential Functions

40% - Review and approval for activities associated with college related funds, including requisitions and purchase orders, ProCard transactions and reconciliations, travel authorizations and cash advances, monitors and controls expenses consistent with district policies; monitors for deficits and ensures remedial steps are implemented as appropriate.

25% - Responds to inquiries and provides technical and analytical support using Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, fiscal queries/reporting, and professional communication platforms. Researches, interprets and advises on related fiscal policies, procedures and regulations, authors documents and makes presentations, reviews processes and reporting for compliance with fiscal, budgetary or internal controls and procedures and makes recommendations for improvements.

25% - Review and analysis of incoming contract requests for completeness and accuracy, manage proper workflow, and facilitate communication with the vendor/counterparty.

10% Other duties as assigned such as completing journal entries, monitoring task performance, and allocations for month-end close and year-end close.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree from a regionally accredited institution in finance, accounting or directly related field and two years of experience providing professional financial analysis for area of assignment.

OR

An equivalent combination of the conferred degree and directly related full-time work experience as described above sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above, unless otherwise subject to any other requirements set forth in law or regulation, may be considered.

Desired Qualifications

A. Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.

B. Three (3) or more years working with an online financial management system, preferably Peoplesoft.

C. Two (2) or more years of experience working with financial resources (e.g. general operating fund, auxiliary funds, capital funds, grant funds, monitoring and financial reporting).

D. Demonstrated experience interpreting, training, communicating fiscal regulations, policies, and procedures to a diverse college community.

E. Experience creating reports and using data to track, analyze, and present fiscal outcomes and fiscal monitoring reports.

F. Experience working in excel spreadsheets and word processing softwares such as Microsoft Office, Google Docs etc.

Special Working Conditions

• Travel to campus during the interview/selection process will be at the candidate's own expense.

• May be required to work evenings and weekends.

• May require prolonged periods of sitting and viewing a computer screen.

• This position requires a physical presence on campus with partial remote work depending on business needs to best serve the students, department, and college.

• Will be required to work in an area of light to moderate noise levels daily
