Job Description:

Morenci High School is seeking an energetic Business programs teacher to join our developing Professional Learning Community. The ideal successful applicant will be CTE-certified to teach Business courses and will also be certified to teach dual-enrollment classes through Eastern Arizona College. Positive student-teacher relationships and interactions are a must. Included in the position is the expectation of teaching a Business I and a Business II course so that students can receive a certificate for completing a two-year CTE program in alignment with Arizona Department of Education requirements. The successful candidate will also sponsor an FBLA chapter and prepare students for regional and state competitions.

The position will start with the 2024-25 school year and will commence in July, 2024.

Our salary schedule starts at $51,280 for beginning teachers and there is potential for up to $8,800 in incentive pay. The District recognizes up to 10 years of experience for placement on the salary schedule. Benefits include a major medical plan, with the district paying 100% of the premium for single employees and about 67% for families. Housing is provided for teachers through Freeport-MacMoRan, the local mining company, for very modest rent. Morenci is a thriving mining community with a family feel.

Morenci High School serves approximately 350 students in grades 9-12. We have been recognized as an A+ school by the Arizona Education Foundation since 2016 and have a proud tradition of excellence. About 20% of our seniors earn an Associate’s degree free of cost prior to graduating from high school through a partnership with Eastern Arizona College.

The Morenci Unified District operates Wildkitten Den (enriched daycare), Morenci Early Learning Center (preschool), Metcalf Elementary School, Fairbanks Middle School, and Morenci High School.
