Job Description:
Morenci High School is seeking an energetic and self-motivated person to join our Professional Learning Community and teach Welding classes as part of our CTE elective program family. The successful applicant will be a CTE-certified teacher in Arizona and have the passion and drive necessary to strengthen a successful two-year CTE program. Ideally, they will also be qualified to prepare students for industry certification in welding and to offer dual credit classes. Excellent interpersonal skills, willingness to collaborate with other CTE faculty, and the ability to motivate and engage hands-on learners are crucial.

The salary schedule starts at $47,000 for beginning teachers and there is potential for up to $8,800 in incentive pay. The District recognizes up to 10 years of experience for placement on the salary schedule. Benefits include a major medical plan, with the district paying 100% of the premium for single employees and about 67% for families. Housing is provided for teachers through Freeport-McMoRan, the local mining company, for very modest rent. Morenci is a thriving mining community of about 2000 people with a family feel.
Morenci High School serves approximately 350 students in grades 9-12. Through a vibrant partnership with Eastern Arizona College, about 20% of our seniors earn an Associate’s degree concurrently with their high school diploma. We have been recognized as an A+ school by the Arizona Education Foundation since 2016 and received an A letter grade from the Arizona Department of Education for the 2021-22 school year. The Morenci Unified District operates Wildkitten Den (enriched daycare), Morenci Early Learning Center (preschool), Metcalf Elementary School, Fairbanks Middle School, and Morenci High School. We serve students throughout southern Greenlee County.
