Job Description:

Basic Functions

  • Responsible for the instruction and facilitation of student learning in an online environment. Provide tutoring, assignment feedback, student remediation and enrichment needs to promote an exceptional student experience and focus on students’ individual needs.
  • Mentor students throughout their lifetime in the program
  • Manage SIS and LMS systems effectively to promote student achievement
  • Ensure academic integrity for all courses.
  • Preference for applicants residing in Arizona.


  • Demonstrates a belief in all students’ ability to succeed and meet high expectations.
  • Differentiates instruction within the LMS (Edgenuity) based on students’ needs.
  • Monitor student progress, participation, and daily performance using the LMS dashboard.
  • Communicates with students/guardians (monthly minimum) to ensure their needs are met.
  • Intervene when necessary to guide students to success including providing tutoring opportunities. Create and maintain alternative assignments/assessments for student remediation.
  • Work closely and develop positive rapport with students, guardians (when applicable), and mentors to advance each student's learning towards earning credits for a high school diploma.
  • Follow new student welcome procedures and provide resources/tools for students to be successful, including (but not limited to) guided notes (if applicable), course syllabus and placing a welcome call/voice/video text.
  • Follow course completion procedures within the time requirements.
  • Document all communications and interactions with students in the SIS in a timely manner.
  • Monitor SIS communication log, specifically those with inactivity or concerns, and work together with the Mentor to support the student’s personal and academic success.
  • Participate in monthly in person department meetings and quarterly all staff meetings. Set and maintain teacher required hours each week.
  • Attend/participate in IEP meetings when requested by the ESS department as well as provided 45 day screener academic information.

Degree: Bachelor’s degree required. Highly Qualified with a Teaching Certificate required. Master’s degree preferred. Must be able to obtain an ARIZONA Fingerprint Clearance Card.


Experience with Learning Management Systems preferred. Two or more years of teaching experience is preferred.
