Job Description:

Dynamic, committed and effective educators needed to teach core academic subjects to elementary students at the intermediate 4-6 elementary level. Possibility of self-contained or departmentalized classrooms. If self-contained you will teach English Language Arts, Mathematics, Science, and Social Studies. We welcome your application!

Annual Proposition 301 performance bonus of up to $7000. Up to 25 years of experience applicable to district salary schedule. Extra duty contracts are available for coaching sports and/or sponsoring extracurricular activities. We welcome teacher initiative to start new extracurricular programs. Additional compensation is available for teaching and tutoring after school and during intersessions and summer school.  

A rural Title I school, Ajo Elementary is co-located with Ajo High School. Our school district serves students from Ajo, Why, Lukeville and the western edge of the Tohono O’Odham Reservation. Our student population is 54% Latino, 24% Native American, 18% Anglo, and 4% Asian; AZELLA classifies about 20% of our students as English Language Learners.
