Job Description:

  • Collaborate with the Associate Superintendent to develop and implement a long range plan for the funding and use of current and future technology.
  • Design wide-area and local-area networks, including generating specifications, seeking and reviewing bids and RFPs, and coordinating multiple construction and installation contractors at multiple sites.
  • Develop and implement technology system policies and procedures regarding system specifications, system security/access, and specifications for purchases.
  • Procure, implement, and secure cloud-based network solutions and services.
  • Review, revise, and communicate the district's Emergency Response Plan in collaboration with the Associate Superintendent.
  • Research and evaluate prospective hardware and software to assure quality, compatibility, and suitability prior to purchase for all district sites.
  • Coordinate and file necessary E-Rate paperwork for Federal funding for technology utilities and hardware.
  • Supervise district technology staff and advise site computer technicians. 
  • In conjunction with the district technology staff and site technicians, support and troubleshoot issues relating to hardware and software.
  • Procure and maintain administrative and educational software licensing.
  • Set up user and network access guidelines.
  • Support and maximize use of technology for teaching and learning and help develop new solutions for the future.
  • Liaison with technology vendors to obtain quotes for the annual budget, and assist in continuous assessment of technology platforms, devices, and systems.
  • Maintain system integrity and security.
  • Collaborate with various CFSD departments to provide advice, information, quotes, and project management, as needed.
  • Be fully trained in the technology equipment and functions needed to support governing board meetings and serve as the back-up for the Network Technician position who performs this duty.
  • Develop and monitor technology related budgets.
  • Network with local, regional, and national technology groups/associations.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with staff, administrators, students, vendors, and the general public.
  • Participate in district committees regarding the district's computer technology, as needed or requested. 


Other:

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in field preferred or commensurate experience in related field
Five (5) years of experience with network administration, managing large scale database solutions, and data and voice networks.
 
Special Requirements: 
Valid Arizona Driver's license and clear driving record.
