Job Description:

BASIS Ed is seeking a Benefits Coordinator/ Specialist to join its growing team at our Scottsdale Central Office.

This position offers a hybrid work schedule and $50,000 salary + amazing benefits referenced below.

The Benefits Coordinator / Specialist is responsible for administering all company benefit programs and packages. Ensures the company’s compliance with applicable laws. Builds relationships and serves as the liaison between benefit vendors, the payroll team, the human resources team, and school employees to ensure that key information is communicated timely and accurately. Assists in the planning and implementation of the Benefits Annual Enrollment process.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Administer all company benefit programs and packages including, but not limited to - 401k, health, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA, HRA, Health Advocate, Telemedicine, and the Employee Assistance Program.
  • Determine eligibility and provide all benefit enrollment materials.
  • Create and conduct benefit presentations (in person and virtually)
  • Become a key source of knowledge to answer employee question about company benefits.
  • Provide ongoing educational opportunities to employees about our benefits program
  • Assist Benefits Manager in planning and managing the Benefits Annual Enrollment process and all relevant communications, including benefit presentations.
  • Approve and submit COBRA records to vendor.
  • Process employee Life Events in a timely manner; collect and approve appropriate documentation.
  • Assist in the administration of the company 401k program; work closely with payroll and human resources leaders to ensure compliance with applicable laws.
  • Build strong, consistent relationships with benefit vendors; participate in regular meetings and conference calls with vendor representatives.
  • Serve as the liaison between benefit vendors, employees, and the human resources team to ensure that key information is communicated timely and accurately amongst all parties.
  • Maintain the company’s strategic wellness program.
  • Semi-annual office hours in local schools
  • Ensure that company practices are compliant with HIPAA and Affordable Care Act regulations and requirements.
  • Backup to Benefits Manager
  • Other duties as assigned.

Position Qualifications:

  • Ability to develop and maintain order while documenting, filing, and coordinating tasks.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree from a regionally accredited college or university required.
  • 1-3 years Benefits/HR experience.
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel for data analysis and auditing purposes. Ability to learn new software systems to manage benefit enrollment and approvals.
