SALARY: $50,000 - $81,950. First year teacher can earn $53,810 by participating in our Three-Year Teacher Mentorship Program ($810) and Performance Pay ($3,000.00 approx.), which is earned and paid the same year. Washington Elementary School District - The largest K-8 Elementary District in Arizona is proud to serve a diverse student population in Northwest and central Phoenix Metropolitan area. WESD offers an exceptional support system for Paid Student Teachers, Alternative Pathways Teachers (Degree outside education), Traditional Student Teachers, and continuing teachers, so all teachers feel supported! There are Mentors and an Instructional Coaches at every site. WESD also provides District Coaches who do not evaluate, but visit schools with the purpose of helping teachers as an additional support system.

PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: 

  • Enrollment in a Teacher Certification Program (Senior Year), or
  • Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education, Secondary Education or Special Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in any area other that is not in Education and is willing to participate in the WESD’s FREE two year Alternative Pathways Teacher Certification Program.

MINIMUM REQUIREMEENTS:

·       A Bachelor's Degree in any area 

WESD offers BRIDGE, a free Classroom-Based Certificate program. No weekend coursework

or late evenings. Applicants who have a Bachelor's Degree in any area other than education
